Simon its good to finally meet you on the 15 going home. :D

Heres the pics I got - I ran out memory space so thats it.

Top Pic - Oldgoat finally found the GCC campsite in the morning. Yeah its tough to find 80s in the middle of the night in the desert.

Middle Pic - Socalfj and Slomo. Suprised to find leather work gloves with their Calico Clean Up shirt. Kudos to Mo for picking up the biggest trash in Group 8 (Mo post up the pic!). The guy and his 80 are just unbelievable.

Bottom Pic - I got used to this view all day long (I should have that license plate number all memorized by now - NOT!. :D

Next trip out should be a Beer Run!

Simon, I can't believe you were out there and I missed you. I saw the TRD FJ race replica and I looked around but figured you weren't there. I will have to catch you at the next one.

Alan it was a pleasure to finally meet you, sorry we missed you and Dave back at the lake bed. See following post.

As always a pleasure seeing the SoCal 80's gang. Big thanks to Dan for keeping an eye on my raffle tickets. Yeah me. I won some shwag. :bounce:

So Tare, his friends Nick, Braeden (spelling?), Alexis,Roberto, and Boyd and I decided to go run Doran Canyon. We left at 2PM for a "quick cruise" up and back. We got to pavement at 8:15 Pm.
Lots of others making our run take a very long time but we had a great time on the rocks. Felt great to take some big old wagons someplace a little tighter than the usual trail.

Some Pictures,
1 Me going for the biggest piece of trash award.
2 Yeah it is a Heep but Alexis is going huge on the Gate Keeper. Picture doesn't do it justice.
3 These guys were doing thier best to kill themselves changing a tire on a side hill, on the down hill side. At first they refused but they finally let me secure the truck with my winch cable.

Dave, I was just being selfish as I didn't want to have to work and put anybody back together. ;p You are too quick, I haven't finished with my pictures yet. :flipoff2:

More Pics
1 Me climbing a waterfall. I gotta show off a little. :grinpimp:
2 Boyd stuck on a rock, not his fualt. A sneaky Heep pushed it into the middle of the trail to try and stop the Land Cruiser Contingent that was making them look bad. ;)
3 Tare and his son Dylan at the top when we were "Home free, nothing but graded roads back from here on out." Famous last words from our trusty leader and his GPS. Sorry Nick, I really had a blast. These are the trips you remember, not the ones where everything goes according to plan.

Gawd damn Mo, 8:15pm at the pavement? That reminds me when i lead 20-30 rigs up doran canyon and it took 6 hours. What a day dude, im glad i didnt run it with you. Alan wasn't ready for that yet anyways.

More

1 Looks like we ran out of daylight.
2 Tare kicking ass. Notice no headlights. This is where you have to trust your spotter implicitly. Alexis did an awesome job spotting:cheers: . Tillie helped too. :D

...?

I think this was my real group run/event with the 80s. It was great to meet you too but I hope the next time we meet as a group would be in a more relaxed atmosphere (this was more of getting some work done) - ie. didnt do a lot of bullshitting with you. I still owe you a drink and so as they say as the alcohol flows the bull**** blows. :D

Awesome pics BTW - now that Im seeing them after this post.

Dave thanks for the pic of my truck you posted - Now everybody can see I went up too high to avoid that metal tube stuck in the ground. Naw - I actually have that picture of my truck as a computer wallpaper which is cool.

Socalfj on telling Odessa as it is for me - you saved me some money (a la Geico commercial voice)!

Yeah wouldn't have been good for his rockers or his time schedule I imagine. It was great fun though.

Boyd won the award for the most carnage. Flare deep scratched, both rear bumper corners toasted big time, and the back section of his Borla exhaust was "re-arranged". I added some character to all four bumper corners (minor), and some cool racing stripes on the sliders. Tare drove smooth as hell and only got a tiny scratch on one flare, and I don't think Alexis got anything on his Jeep. Best fun I have had wheeling in a long time. Thanks to all who made it through.
