Posted this in Electronics section as well but may do better here in the SoCal80's section.

I could swear I read in a thread somewhere here that a mudder had put together and programmed in a complete list of repeaters here in California, but I can't find the thread on who did it.

Has anyone done this that would like to share the repeater names and frequencies?

Im not sure i know what you mean.... a list? or a program file that you dump into your radio? I've never seen a complete CA list that will go into your radio.... besides how would you fit a complete list of all the CA repeaters? There's hundreds if not thousands of repeaters out there. Just go to Fry's and buy the book. It's a tiny book that fits in your pocket and it's like $9.99. I just programmed in a few that i will use every once in a while like Catalina, Big Bear etc etc. If we are in a area, i usually look up the repeaters before we leave in case i need to use them. Also there are many websites that have repeater lists and even a google earth location of them too.
 
Not to dump into the radio directly but a list so we can pick and choose. I'd read a thread, or at least I thought I had of someone here in CA that had put together a good list of repeaters up and down CA.

Still need to pick up that little reapter book, but let's use this thread to start a list of repeaters we like/use with their frequency, location and a name if it has one. My 'Elmer' sent me 3 that I'll post up this evening. Don't know where they are yet. Radio install moving slowly.
 
Oh, if you just want a list there's a million of them on the net. Just type in google "CA 2 meter repeater list" for example. But yeah, grab the book.. its tiny and you can flip through sections quickly because it's broken up by counties.

Install going slow over here too for the new rig... Ran over to HRO saturday.. and i got the antenna mounted.. just need to wire up the radio and figure out where to mount it.

 
Ha. Got the antenn mount on yesterday and put the speaker in and that's about it so far. Put the mount on the PS and was going to drill in near the tail light as Alvaro did, but I'd need to get the fridge, CO2 tank and the custom sub enclosure removed to even get down there...so I'm probably going to move it to the DS to make life easier! I don't think there will be issues routing the coax for the 2M right next to the CB coax.

DS seat may come out tonight to start the work. I've got to take a good hard look as I not only have the OEM alarm box under there, but also the Ipod controller for the radio head unit. Hope there's room because I don't want it behind either rear quarter panel because of the dust! I don't have the cubby hole on the PS. Lost that to the custom subwoofer enclosure several years ago.

Build a little mounting bracket to bolt into the cubby hole on the center console using the bolt in the bottom. Comes up to where the two center console pieces meet and angles up for viewing. Used a cheap little piece of 16ga steel from Home Despot to fab the mount. We'll see if it works. It's either that or some type of ram mount screwed into the PS of the center console. I don't really want the whole radio up there like you had.

Thx - they want $20 to access drilldown info and there are free sites out there for cheap bastards like me.

TASMA is the official repeater coordinator for SoCal and I've got their list.
 
Here's a little info I received from my 'elmer'

146.610 FamComm Repeater and the 147.090 Catalina Repeater I believe have Echo Link. If you check their Web Page you can get more information. 145.440 WALA Repeater has IRLP and if you have a node they will connect for you if you ask on the air.

Yep, have Keller Peak in my radio already.. as well as Sierra.

If you can't hit Keller, there's something wrong with your radio. You can basically sneeze and hit keller from anywhere in OC, LA, and IE. I also have the big bear repeater and catalina on my radio too. Think thats about it besides national simplex monitor freq. The rest i just dial in.

I've used echolink to talk to guys in Arizona on my radio. As well as Antarctica! I used a node out of Buena Park.

What's the 'national simplex monitor frequency.

Info on the Echolink node. That's how I'd like to talk to my old Scoutmaster in Illinios.
 
TASMA Coordinated Repeater List

i poached this and a few others, did a little magic in excel and came up with a big ol file that i pushed into the radio using the cable and software.

I *think* that it's the same set up for an 8800, if so, i'd let you use it and load up your radio for you at a meet and greet.

i'll get the excel file to you and you can look it over.

i hit scan on my radio and it takes 15 minutes to go thru them all...it's over kill.

The National Simplex (Calling) Frequency is 146.52 MHz. Not 146.46. :grinpimp:

Dave info on the Echolink node if you can. I havent been motivated to do more reading since the only thing Im going to use my rig is vehicle to vehicle communication at this time. But the earthquake kinda shook that narrow use idea today.

First off, you guys cant use the node.... its in Buena Park. You have to be within range. If you can hit it, then all the best to you. Then you need to ask the guy for permission to use it and he'll give you the passcode. Because they're home built and many guys take the FCC thing seriously.. they wanna know who you are and what you intend to use it for.

Once your connected it's pretty bitchen. You can connect to anyone in the WORLD. The people on the other end need to obviously be connected as well to a node or reflector in their area. Usually we use the Western Reflector out of vegas. It's amazing and works well. You just need to get off when your done and respect the air ways.

And yes, Alan is right.. 146.520... is national simplex.. that should of been in your study material! LOL!
