Buying Steel

I need to get some steel to do up a new bumper for the cruiser...

I need a piece of 2x4 as well as a couple of pieces of 1/4 inch plate to make the mounts from ... I figure 1/4 inch should be thick enough for everything bumper related...

Anyway questions:

Anyone see why I should use thicker then 1/4 inch?
Anyone know where I can get this?

I also need a couple of pieces to make sag box mounts out of.

And a couple of more pieces to make rear disk mounts out of...

Oh ya... I'm going to start up some project work

1/4", 3/16" should be plenty. Try Island plate and steel just over the blue bridge on Harbour st.

Island steel is great for the new stuff but also check Williams. They are in the highlands and they are a steel and other metal recycler. You can score a good deal there from time to time but the "pickins" are hit and miss.
