You can run add-a leaf but stay away from the 5000. I would get the Doestch 3000 or prerunner shocks from summitracing for cheap. I have been very happy with mine on my HFS lift.

WAVEPIMP said:Any of you guys running BDS, did you use caster shims? I'm wanting to get a BDS with 2" shackel and was wondering if I need to use those 4 degree or 6 degree shims? I drive alot of freeway miles and want my steering to be pretty good when I'm cruizing on Houston freeways.
thanks james
cruiser_guy said:No caster shims on my truck but I'm wondering if it might be a good idea. I'm getting excessive wear on the outside of the front tires. Is that a sign of the caster being off?
lovetoski said:That's prolly because you have too much toe-in. Check the FSM, but I think it's supposed to be 1/8" or so. Caster is the vertical alignment, when viewed from the side. An alignment shop can check caster for you, and if it's off, can tell you what degree of shim is needed to put it back right.
WAVEPIMP said:anti-inversion shackles, do these have to be welded in or involve any welding? New to this shackle stuff. which is better, regular shackles or anti-inversion?
Thanks
cruiser_guy said:Toe in has been checked several times and is fine. The shops all say that caster can't be changed "Duh", that's what shims are for. I'll ask again and see.
bent axle will adjust it.lovetoski said:Camber can't be adjusted. This is vertical orientation of the tires, from the front. If the alignment shop says caster can't be changed, then go to a different shop.
If toe and caster are correct, then the wear is due to something else (duh). I'd be checking the knuckle bearings and wheel bearings in particular.
