Buying advice / Model year Changes

Hi all,

I'm currently in the market for a 95 series Prado 4 door with 2.7 3rz engine and auto transmission. I will be buying a clean low mileage unit from Japan and importing to Canada.
I'm looking for a listing of model year changes and some advice for specific models or options to seek.
This will be my DD so no crazy mods planned, maybe a slight lift and 265/75 tires.

Post 2000 had a facelift, though this might only be in certain countries like europe - Bumper with fog lights, clear heaglights, different style frill, different wheels, and rear lights. Some also came with the newer D4-D engine.

You have the 2.7 4 cylinder, 3.4 V6 and the 1KZT-E 3 litre diesel. Diesel is the favorite and in my opinion the better of engines. The 2.7 will be a bit slow...

In Japan they have different specs than the rest of the world so I'm a little unsure, but generally the higher spec trucks have leather, electric climate control, electric aerial and wing mirrors, sunroof, roof bars, OEM floor mats, clinometer ect
