I agree. Go for it. Have owned four Cruisers, and at the risk of tempting the auto gods, I have never been left stranded. Sure, a few roadside repairs, so I second the notion of taking some belts and hoses (and water/anti-freeze - see below) for the trip. My favorite was on a trip from Norfolk, VA to Rocky Mt. Natl Park with wife and daughter. About half way between Columbia, MO and KC the fan belt broke and ripped up the upper radiator hose - you get the picture. Hood up on shoulder of I-70, water and steam everywhere, looking like Armageddon! MO state trooper came along right at he height of this scene. Daughter and wife sitting on a cooler of the side of the road, me under the hood. Trooper walked up and asked if I needed a tow truck. Said, nope, I got this. He just stared at me. So, I held up the new belt and hose I had ready, and thanked him for stopping. He just walked away shaking his head! Other than the emissions stuff, they are really bullet proof.
