Finished my $50 exhaust upgrade today. The pipe from the transfer case back was cracked along the factory weld, and starting to rattle and look like sh$t, so I wanted a cheap but sanitary fix.
I cut the pipe about 6 inches back from the flex-pipe fitting, welded the hanger under the right rocker panel to a simple cherry-bomb muffler. I then took a mandrel 90 bend, slash cut at the tip and ran that back from the muffler, exiting out in front of the rear tire. It all tucked nicely under the rocker, painted it all flat black.
It has nice military look, and the sound....VERY sexy from the RHD driver's seat....a really deep rumble off idle, but not loud at all at cruising speeds.
