One a side note, has anyone used laminate flooring for a top? I can score some very cheap at work...
Laminate would probably work, and your box would look like you spent a ton of money on it. You can have the only Cruiser around with hardwood floors! 
Incidentally, any straight router bit will work for making the grooves. Clamp a straightedge in place and keep moving the straightedge over until the groove is wide enough. I made mine a tad wider than the UHMW strips to make up for a little bit of out-of-whack alignment in the installation.

I posted these pics and several others in the cargo box thread in the outfitting section (here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=52538 ), but thought you guys would be interested in seeing pics here too.
The first pic is of Jeff Kaufman's cargo box in his 60. Jeff makes these drawers and the quality is top-notch. Contact information and prices can be found on the thread in the outfitting section.
The second pic is of part of the system I bought. You can see the drawer and the side extension (from the box, covering the wheel well area). What I bought as well, but didn't have installed when I took the pic is the sleeping platform extension. This extension rests on the back of the 2nd row seat and has a leg that will support it as well. With the leg installed, you can have the platform in place with the 2nd row seat removed.
The last pic (not my truck) shows what the full cargo box system would look like. Note the box with the fridge is optional -- you could have a drawer there instead of the fridge box.
