Superchargers - An Aftermarket Accessory For Toyota Tacoma
Do you own a Toyota Tacoma? If so, here you can learn about some of the aftermarket accessories for Toyota Tacoma that will increase the power of your truck.
Owning a Toyota Tacoma opens up a whole new range of possibilities on the maintenance of this best-selling pickup truck in the US market. One of the most exciting of these options is souping-up the vehicle’s power which stands as a well-explored niche in the aftermarket accessories for Toyota Tacoma.

One of the more recent offerings is a supercharger from Underdog Racing Development (URD) that was designed for the 4.0-liter 2005–2008 Toyota Tacoma (1 GRFE) engine. With this supercharger, the rear wheel horsepower (RWHP) of the pickup truck is boosted to 305 from 209 RWHP. In pure horsepower (hp) terms, this increase is from about 236 hp to 366 hp, which should come as no surprise. For Rotrex is the original equipment manufacturer for this supercharger, the same outfit which at one time produced the world speed record with its 806-hp, 4.7-liter Koenigsegg CCR engine.

The aftermarket accessories for Toyota Tacoma would not be as exciting without Toyota Racing Development (TRD) which is behind most of the popular add-ons available for the pickup truck. One of these is the off-road package of TRD has been on the market since 1996, but it was made available for the Tacoma only in 2005. Bannered by the bold TRD sport graphics, these Toyota Tacoma off-roaders boast of 17-inch alloy wheels, street-performance tires, TRD shocks and race-designed hoods.

TRD also has a supercharger designed for the 2RZ-FE and 3RZ-FE engines of the 1995-2004 Toyota Tacoma. The manufacturer, Alpine Development, has developed this supercharger to deliver a 50 percent increase in power at 8 pounds per square inch (psi) of boost. For the aftermarket accessories for Toyota Tacoma, still there’s another supercharger in common use today. It was designed by Magnuson Products for the Toyota Tacoma pickup models with 5VZ-FE V6 engines to boost power to 251 hp from the standard 190 hp.

Toyota dealerships have likewise made available TRD superchargers for the Tacoma pickup truck 4.0-liter V6 engines. From the original 236-hp, the Tacoma engine’s output will generate 304 hp and boost torque output up to a maximum of 334 foot-pounds with the installation of the supercharger. A psi of eight pounds of boot pressure could be expected from the device which may be installed on Toyota Tacoma models from 2005 to 2008. A one-piece integral manifold houses the Eaton roots-type rotating components of the supercharger’s system along with its five-rib serpentine drive belt setup and iridium spark plugs.

To complement all this new found power, the installation of Sports Pedals, with designs both for automatic or manual transmissions, may be another good call in the choice of aftermarket accessories for aftermarket accessories for Toyota Tacoma. Available from OBX Racing, these pedals come in sporty silver finish. Also one sporty addition worth considering is the Fork Mount Bike Attachment to secure a loaded bike to the bed rail. This system conveniently uses the bike’s fork ends as tie-down points to the one-cleat attachment system. And for a truly complete dress-up, there’s the easy-to-install Toyota Trailer Ball. Manufactured from cold forged steel, this ball installation can accommodate towing loads as specified in each model’s manual, and is great as a dress-up accessory for a truly sporty and off-road vehicle.

Good luck Albert. We went through one round of layoffs, took a pay cut, and could see more going if things don't pick up.
