Well i was driving on some backroads one day and my dad spotted what he thought was a pickup, so we turned around and sure enough it was. Luckily the owner was there and he was thrilled to sell it, so we looked it over and i offered him $400 for it and brought her home the next day. She has definatly had a pretty rough life, from Alaska, Idaho, Utah and then Tennessee where shes been sitting since 2012. Owner told me something was wrong with the carb and he never touched it again, and there was, he took off the stock one that was its problem lol, so she just sat under some trees. This truck will defiently only be a parts truck, the cab and bed are far to gone and the frame is rusted through.

The interior has definetly seen better days, why he put a stupid camry stereo in i will never know, oh and one speaker in the drivers door only. lol. But there are a few good parts here and there on the inside.

Turns out the fenders are in perfect shape! Super lucky considering how rusty everything else has been, i really needed a pristine set for my 82, its super hard to find any of these trucks in salvage yards in TN. And also the fender liners are in really nice shape too.

Does anyone by chance know if these are original Toyota rims? Ive looked around and seen what looked exactly like these in a few restored pickups. Would be really cool if they are, then i will invest some money in them and get them powder coated. I will scrap some more goop off them and see if i can see any numbers anywhere. Appreciate any info guys!

Well i poured some gas in the carb and with a fresh battery she fired up to my surprise! Starter is barely hanging in there, i had to have someone hold it in place with a stick to get her to turn over, previous owner ruined every bolt. So im probably only going to keep the 20R head and junk the block and the trans. I am crossing my fingers that the transfer case is in good working shape and not to much wear, i really need some good parts out of her for my dual setup on my 82. Windshield washer reservoir is in great shape to, not cracked or rotted or damaged in any way. It may have had an aftermarket ac at one point, only trace is the mounting bracket on the block.

Floors are definitely rotted through, so only the top part of the cab is really usable. So anyone looking for pieces or parts on here feel free to ask, chances are im probably going to scrap the whole cab and bed and frame, so it will most likely be free if you can use it. There is another member on here that layed claim to part of the frame.

Might try and sell the gauge cluster or just give it away to someone in need, its in perfect shape. I will probably keep the blue bezel and glass on the gauge though. Left side trim panel seems to look good, i wont ever use it because its gray. I believe this truck has the 4.37 R&P if im correct? It was built in SEPT 79. I plan on getting the drive train pulled by tommorow and the cab stripped.

Wheels are not stock.
Well then i most likely will not do anything with them not being toyota. Would be nice to find a chrome SR5 set for a reasonable amount, i kick myself for tossing a set like 10 years ago. :frown:
