Wanted to report back with an update on the progress. The t nuts worked like a charm. Got the Land Cruiser put back together about 1 AM last night. She fired right up this morning without issue.
A couple little details, the t nuts ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CSK4WHLZ?tag=ihco-20 ) were barely too big to fit through the holes in the valve cover. I used a tungsten bit on a dremel to remove probably less than a millimeter in diameter and they fit in perfectly, I made sure to have enough space so they'd turn without any issue.
For the nuts that I welded onto the t nuts, I actually used some of the old valve cover bolts. I cut them off with 1 or 2 threads which was just enough for them to screw into the top of the t nut and center themselves while I welded them together.
Thanks again for the help! It's a huge relief to have this project knocked out after snapping those bolts.
