Jambo everyone.
I have an 80's 4.2, 24v.
There is a oil level checker plug right next to the oil filter. I overtightened it and it snapped off, leaving the other half inside the block. I have no clue how to get it out.
The plug has a has a cylinder with a spring going through it. I did manage to get a replacement but the broken bit wont come off.
any help will be appreciated.

More information about your vehicle will help. Sounds like it's not our typical 1991-1997 80 series. Diesel, perhaps?

If there is a hole(you make it sound like it is hollow) that a easy out will fit in, you may be able to use that type of device. I some times use a flat screw driver to pressure fit into a hole that the part you are trying to remove may back out. A left or reverse pitch drill bit may do the trick(depends on how tight the thread are).
A picture of the problem may help. I am going off what is described. Good luck.
