Break drum balancing weights? (1 Viewer)

Refurbishing four brake drums that were given to me awhile back and don't recall seeing a weight on the drum. It may be normal, but I just don't remember seeing it. Factory? Would a drum be that out of balance?

I can't comment specifically on 40 brake drums, but I had the rear drums balanced on my '61 Austin Healey, and was astonished by how much weight was added. This is common on the Brit car drums.
So apparently yes, the drum can be that out of balance.

have a pile of those in the shed and the first 5 i picked up had weights and were different sizes to boot
