Since you have a spare carb now, order up a rebuild kit, get a Haynes manual or FSM and take it apart. I rebuilt mine with a little patience and only a Haynes manual. As long as you have all the parts, it's really not that hard. Just look at the diagram and reassemble based on it. It will also help you understand how the carb works and what all the different ports/systems within it does. I was in your shoes not too long ago. The hardest part in working on your truck is getting the courage to jump right in. Take your time and learn as you go. If it was rocket science, we'd all be driving to the moon on our weekend excursions. :D
