Brakes

The brakes on my 75 are rubbish compared too my 70...i know with 33s and the extra weight they will never be as good but im sure i can doo better...are these a good pad too start with ??...ive had them in stock for three years and i think they are the same as the 70 has now.

They should be as least as good as what Toyota use. Name brand make in the UK should be fine. Getting the discs skimmed will make them better.

I fitted hilux/surf front calipers with a 80 series booster on my hj75 all plug and play and pulls up great now.

Mintex Red Box are a good quality pad. Been around for a long time, plenty of good info on the web.

Check your caliper pistons, make sure they’re not frozen/stiff

Which 80 series booster did you use? Drum rear still?

Yes I still rear drum brakes early 80 series twin diagram booster

I used front calipers from a 1990 4runner and booster from 1990 80-series.
Used an angle grinder to cut away disc brake back plate to fit the slightly larger calipers.
