brake levers

Is it possible or recommended to move the levers closer to the end of the handle bars? What are the pro's and cons other than reach and accessibility?

There is no right and wrong here. move them to where they suit YOU best. Personally I like my levers pretty far in. 90% one finger braking but I do sometimes use two fingers. That dictates that I have just enough room for two fingers but no more. I like a fair amount of free play so If I move them any further out I tend to squeeze them against my third knuckle.

Same for me. Gotta love the ease of one finger braking. Especially for those who don't ride the break most of the time.

I cut my bars down a bit, so that's an option. Some brake levers require more throw and more strength, hydraulic disks don't need much of either so you only need to get two fingers on them at most. If you like to drape a finger on the lever while riding, you'll need to decide where that is comfortable. If you are going to ride in a group or in traffic, or mountain bike, you will want to keep fingers on the brake levers a bit more.
