Bought a HDJ100 with 550k KMs on the clock. Where should I start with maintenance??

Alright, so I've managed to bag myself a high km 100 series Sahara (5sp auto) for a low price. I've been a very active member of the 90 series community on multiple platforms. Looking forward to learning this new engine and being a helpful contributor here! 😎🤙

Bought from interstate without looking at it in the flesh but after a video call with the seller and having him run over all the usual inspection and driving tests for me, I was satisfied with the purchase. Their are a couple of minor wear and tear things I'm ticking off my list fixing. Theirs a small clunk in the driveline when you're coasting along say in 3rd and accelerate. My old Prado was the same but never seemed to get worse. The heater system doesn't work (no heat and possibly no air con). Fan and mode controls seem to work fine though. Heater pipes through firewall are hot. Power and 2nd buttons don't seem to function. Steering fluid leaking from reservoir or near piping I believe. I've got no receipts for work that's been done but can see the air con compressor is very new, same with the alternator, shocks, springs and upper and lower control arms. Has had a recent service. Timing belt due in about 50,000 KMs. Injectors look untouched for a looong time and have some oil around them, possibly from the valve cover leaking.

I've purchased a new bull bar and winch for it. Scan gauge 3 to monitor engine data. It came with brand new Iron man suspension and springs (AHC deleted). Car seems to drive smooth, quiet and with reasonable power, though you can notice the weight of the car when accelerating from stop. Doesn't feel as torquey is I'd expect.

I've got about about $5000 left to play with. What should I be prioritising in order to make the engine last another 250k + KMs? I'm thinking new injectors, exhaust (current one a bit rusty but still holding out) and maybe a Stage One or Two CCT turbo? Ive also got a spare Unichip Q4 laying around but not sure if I want to put that on such a high km engine. Still thinking that one over. Still haven't examined the intake manifold for soot but the EGR system is still intact, as is the preheat device near the throttle body, so I suspect the intake will look like the inside of a Marmite jar.

Any guidance or advice here would be greatly appreciated 😎🤙

Welcome to 100 ownership, bummer about your AHC delete - at least the Ironman is good gear. Agreed the HD does need a bit of a wind up, however like the UZ it will last a long time. 550,000ks and probably many left, if you're going extra boost and/or fuelling be careful...

Almost certainly diff bushes. Have a read through what others have done, I did the whole assembly and things are clunk-free.

Thanks for that info and the welcome! I'll have a look at all that over the weekend. Appreciate it. Yeah I'm a bit bummed about the AHC delete, but not complaining with what I got. I test drove another 100 series with it all intact and it was glorious!
