Texx - a 2F running in fifth with stock 3.73 gearing and 33" tires is gonna suck. Kinda like trying to start out in 3rd gear. The whole drive train needs to be matched to the engine power band. Plus, tuning a 2F is very dependent on getting everything right, not just bolting on power accessories.
I like V8's too, and have one now and have owned a number of them. I like the Cruiser better for it's intended use - fishing, camping and bird hunting trips - driving bad roads in safety and relative comfort.
VTCruiser - I like the turbo idea, too. I had a Maserati with a 90 degree V6 (2.5L) and it made 225 HP with twin IHI liquid cooled turbos. It was a rocket (0 to 60 in 6.3 seconds).
Running 5 to 7 lbs of boosted cooled air into a 2F would seem to make a lot of sense. I would think that a better cast iron exhaust manifold and a CAT back of 2-1/2" or more would make enough horses to keep most people happy.
