It can be done... I've googled it and spotted one...

bobbed 4Runner - Google Search

The only thing is... Labor. And what you've got when you're done with it...

IMO, I'd rather get a 70 or 74 series... I do not see a point in bobbing a few inches off the already compact, SWB 4Runner...

70 series, or b/c we didnt get one in america, an Isuzu 2 door what'sit'sface.... The boxy 2 door trooper thing...

Or Dodge Raider. Or Mitsubishi thingamabob...

But then when I think about the trouble of converting the DT and axles... I just go back to what I know...

A Toyota.

I can't get over how sic that thing looks...

I'm going to assume those are 35's... And the next lowest thing I see to the frame is the gas tank!

That's some freaking awesome ground clearance there...

Are those 35's? And what's the specs on the lift?

..and so sayeth the wise men of Toyota.

Amen.

*Come on, you gotta admit we do all know what the answer to your post was, we all said the same thing.

ok, just how much departure do you need? And the small amount I DO feel you'd get, I don't feel is worth the LABOR...

Looks sic though:D

From the 3 trips I have wheeled my 4runner, the rear bumper has taken several hard hits against rocks. I can see why people bob them. If bobbing the fiberglass top wasn't so involved, mine would be bobbed already.

well u guys are right, there is no rust in the truck, the body is perfect except for the some dents etc. it has a 4" lift and has only 33's. it has always been just my runaround 4by, but am selling my fj40 and intend use it as a hard core / comp truck.

but unfortunatly i like my trucks to be indivuals, and i love doing the work.

Move the rear axle back 6-8" and put big tires. There is a pic on pirate of one on 35's or 37's. Looks good and makes the angle much better. Plus you don't lose any space in the rear.

I'm moving my axle back 6" and running 42's and when I put the tire up to it six inches back, I think I had like 10 inches of overhang.

Here is the link, its on page three half way down. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304626&highlight=4runner+stretched&page=3
