Am thinking this would be a great time to go ahead and mount an electric fan, rather than buying a non-circle fan, and fake fan bearing, etc. Read somewhere on here that an electric can have an added switch to turn it off before water crossings, so it won't dig into the radiator. Also seems like taking out the reason for the fake fan bearing fail would allow the bearing to last MUCH longer. Would also help in the fan clutch fail mode. Other benefits would be a couple extra HP, and prob a little better mileage, with the largest drag on the 3.0 gone. Anyone know any more cons, other than living in AZ ? Don't have any overheating probs in this dog, but don't use the AC much either. Maybe because that has failed too.... Good elect fan supplier?

Probably lots of pros and cons either way, electric versus manual. I have no idea about the fake bearing that you are talking about, and I'm not even certain on the more HP. I like the simplicity of the engine fan, but I am in hot South Florida and with the engine idling, my fan just does not pull enough air for my AC. I just purchased a Mercury Villager fan and am going to run a controller from DCC. Have not installed it yet, but read lots about it. Also, a very popular fan is the Taurus fan, only reason I didn't get the Taurus one is supposedly the Villager fan shroud is a better fit for my radiator dimensions. The DCC controller has an ignition input that you can put on a switch so you can kill it for water crossings, etc. Anyway, I figure the fan is worth a try, it was not expensive.
