Blotch rig GONE!

Just wanted to share with everyone...
The blotch rig is under new ownership!
The guy came and picked it up yesterday. It was a surreal experience seeing that rig being driven off by someone else. Kinda like someone hit me in the chest with a sledge. Funny how a rig will do that to you.
It was my first rig and what I learned to build and wheel on.
She has gone to a good home at the end of the day. Someone who is a cruiser head and will appreciate her.

Now I gotta get the 40 up and running cuz Ive got NOTHING to wheel!!!!!!

This is a SICK SICK hobby were into, you all know!

Not really much to report on the 40...Just sheet metal work...
Got the DS fender well completed, got the interior of the rocker panel replaced, stripped some rust off the floor pan, found some pitting that had worn through that Ill try and weld in to fill. Overall the integrity of the floor pan is pretty decent. I figure Ill strip the FAWK out of it with that schnazzy rust stripping wheel (I LOVE that thing BTW), fill it with bondo and run it as is. Unless I see something that REALLY will demand replacement, it should be good. Got the PS fender well pulled (PITA) and will have to do the same thing to that as I did on the DS.
After that, the body work will be basically DONE. Gotta flip the tub, strip the under coating, sand and paint etc. Then I can start on the FUN STUFF.
Strip the frame, mock things up etc. Ill definitely be calling you for this step of the project.
Still not sure on which way I wanna go with the t case...
Atlas 2 or 4 speed
Stretch the tub and frame and make the 203 split case work.
This would be pretty easy for me to do, but there are down sides...custom cage and soft top are the biggest hindrances.
However, I would NOT have to center the rear diff, and I think the extra length of the 203 in front of the split case will eliminate the front drivesahft clearance issue with the trans.

Im open to opinions on this!

Gotta be VERY FRUGAL with the money I have and spend it wisely.
If I go with the 4 speed atlas, that burns almost ALL of the disposable cash that I have for the build. It might be worth it cuz as you mentioned...that set up would be universal, but I have to be SURE.
The 2 speed would probably be okay, but Im still concerned.

I think you should stretch it, not much more work than you are currently doing and well within your abilities. The extra room is also nice if anyone is riding with you, like a out of town friend, also all loaded up everything is lower (less tipsy) and you can see out the back. As for the top you can modify one or have it built but it would be good for 5-10 years, as for the cage that is the easy thing for you to modify.

I'm sad for Dude. My first rig was a Jeep that my wife told me we couldn't afford when we got married. I felt the same as you did for years and it was just a "Jeep". I hurt until I bought my crusier 15 years later.Your rig was a beauty and you sure built it right. Git that 40 goin and your pain will be but for a moment. Joanne stretched my soft top to fit my family cage. I bought the stuff at a fabric store and she put it together. She did a great job-very talented(and very nice for doing it).

Its always a treat when you post up since its so far and few between.
Im good with it. It had to happen for this build to happen. Ill probably have to sit out for a bit while she gets built, but...that's the way it goes.
Im just glad that a mudder bought it and shell be appreciated. Its amazing how much of a piece of mind that is. The original plan was to scrap parts off it, then part it out, but....I just could NOT do that. Its a great rig, and doesnt deserve a fate like that.
