I need to have the dealer install a block heater on my LX. The local dealer here in Cleveland is giving me grief telling me that such a thing does not exist. I travel far north in the winter and I have to have a block heater. Every other Land cruiser and 4Runner I have owned has had one. When I looked online I found a heater with part number PU140-00905, which I believe is a Lexus or Toyota OEM part for that engine. Can anyone like Beno confirm that part number and that it is OEM Toyota or Lexus ? I really appreciate it.

Does anyone have a PDF of the installation guide for an LX or LC? I have only found one for the RX350.

Dealer here in Cleveland has been super confused about my request and flat out says that the part number is not a Toyota or Lexus part number. I called my old dealership back in Alaska and they said those are indeed Toyota and Lexus part numbers. I really wish I would have had time to get the work done in Anchorage. If I can get the installation guide specific to the 200 I will order the parts and do it myself.

Any help would be appreciated.

Beno, if I recall correctly, there was something weird with ordering these... Canada only maybe? Phillips Temro manufactures these for Toyota/Lexus. Here is the list for Toyota.

These units can also be purchased under the Temro Zerostart Brand through the aftermarket. Part # 3100129

Stonepa, I'll try to dig up the PDF for you. It's really easy to install.

Beno - this Is for a Lexus LX570. My local Lexus dealer says he can't help me because he can't find a 'real' Lexus part number or installation guide. Anything would be helpful.

Spoke with my dealer here in Cleveland and he agreed to do the installation if I can get the right part and a PDF of the LX 570 installation guide for the part. Wish me luck on finding the information given the fact that I have a trip back planned in 6 weeks and it's already starting to snow back home.

FYI - if anyone is reading this thread for a heater DO NOT order the Toyota part number listed above. That part has a manufacturing defect through the 2018 MY and has caused fires when used. I got a recall notice from Toyota Canada and Kendall Toyota in Anchorage. The rumor is that the new part number is PK 5A408J05Z. Working to verify.

@stonepa,
Which part is the defective, recalled part?

Toyota PU140-00905,
or
Temro Zerostart, Part # 3100129

Asking for a friend... :hmm:

The 400 watt Toyota part for sure. Not sure if it is supplied by Temro.
