Did mine a few weeks ago. Did you attach a length of clear 3/8" hose to the valve and run it into a half filled container. I did this and never needed to close the bleeder valve as the expeled fluid fills the hose and doesnt let air back in. I had my son pump the peddel slowly and add fluid every 15 pumps. I would open the valve just enough to get the fluid to drip and when he applied pressure I would open more till the fluid ran faster and had him pump till the fluid was clear at that wheel. Then close the valve whith the hose still on and remove hose. The fluid drains back into the catch container and you are on to the next valve. It sounds like you might not be opening the valve far enough to let the fluid out. Try it with the hose method and you don't need to close the valve so often. Cut th ehose long enough so you can have an upward loop in the hose so the fluid doesn't drain straight down. It will flow up for a few inches and you can see bubbles in the fluid. when the bubbles stop you are done with that wheel. My job took almost a full quart of fluid to flush the system.
