Yes I went, sort of.

Got to the trail about 3 pm Saturday, made it about 3 miles and had to turn around as the PO (previous owner) gods bit me.

I did however see an abandoned Cruiser at the bottom. He must have broken something due to those 37's! It does look very good on those though Chuck.

Hope all had a good time.

Broke the left front leaf spring in the Sand Dunes. I had no intentions of trying to run Blanca with the top leaf broken.

I am loading pictures of the Sand Dunes and Blanca.

Mike, John and myself headed out Friday afternoon and traveled down past Westcliff and over Medano Pass. We found a camp spot maked with 0.3 so we unloaded some chairs to hold the spot and headed on to the Sand Dunes. We found a Subaru stuck in the soft sand road. We made short work of pulling them out of the sand. We parked and headed up the dunes. The wind was blowing and we were scambling to get up the dunes before the sun set. We made it quite a ways up the dunes and managed to get some pictures of the sun setting on the dunes. Running down the dunes was a blast. The wind was blowing strong most of the night but we had a camp spot that was sheltered from the wind. We saw what appeared to be a tent up on the dunes. I don't think that would have been a fun camp with the wind.

We were up early to get ready to go but I guess we dawdled too much and ended up getting to the Blanca trail head at about 9:45am. That's when I found out my top spring was broken on the left front.

The trip up Blanca went fine and the weather was great. Sometime in the middle of the night we awoke to the sounds of something eating grass very close the the tent. We didn't get a chance to see what it was.

On Saturday the girls, Mike and John all caught fish. I managed to catch a few on Sunday because we weren't going to leave until I caught some fish.:bounce:

This trail was very enjoyable for me, except for a couple of places where I worked up a good sweat, such as slipping a little on the downhill side of the V-crack obstacle and the off-camber place just before the V-crack. I was very pleased with the performance of my 40, especially with 33s, and I learned a lot about climbing new types of obstacles, such as Jaws I. The spotting was top tier, thanks to Chuck, Trevor, and Brent. I am thinking about doing this trail again sometime, although definitely not next year when I will have the hard top back on my Cruiser with its higher center of gravity. Thanks for all who helped me get through this trail since I was a Mt. Blanca rookie. Vic
