I did a quick solo trip up to Black Mountain/Idyllwild, CA this past Saturday to test my camping gear and new to me 03 Land Cruiser. Thanks to FishPOET for his great descriptions and maps San Jacinto Yellow Post sites
Here's the first time the LC has probably seen dirt on the way down to the water puddle/crossing on 5S09
Looking down into the desert and I-10 from 7,000 feet
No 4 Low required.
I snagged the last yellow post site at 7,600 feet.
Took a quick hike up the Pacific Crest Trail on Fuller Ridge.
Great views from the forest to the desert and windmills in the pass.
San Jacinto Peak.
Trip, rig, and gear were a success.
