Okay, I finally found a use for that bedliner in a spray can... dechroming my 80!

Step 1: Remove grille and light surrounds

Step 2: Wash very well and dry

Step 3: Wipe down with Acitone

Step 4: Paint with a plastic primer. I used a can of Fusion I had on the shelf.

Step 5: Skip to Step 6 while waiting to dry.

Step 6:

Step 7: Repeat Steps 4 - 6 if desired.

Step 8: Spray with bedlining. *NOTE: This stuff sprays really thick! Make sure you move fast and keep the can well shook!*

Step 9: See Step 6

Step 10: Repeat Steps 8 - 9 until you are satisfied with coverage.

Step 11: Put in warm dry place to let it cure for 24 hours.

Step 12: Finish out the evening with multiple Step 6

Step 13: Put everything back on your 80!

This is how it should look when you are done:

can we get some full frontal?

I have a friend that blacked out his sombrero emblem too, it looks surprsingly cool

Looks good, I did the same, but with duplicolor dark gray wheel paint I had laying around.

I hope you remembered to leave a note on the windshields of those cars before you left the scene ;)

good idea....looks great.....

I used a can of bedliner to do a 5 inch strip across the front of my hood where their was some chipping...stuff works great....

Thanks for the info. I have to dechrome my grill too. I am putting in a mesh insert also. (93 grille)
I am unfamiliar with the bedliner in a can.
Where can I get some.

3m ruberized undercoating works great too. Nice alternative to paint as it does not chip.

I used the Dupli-Coat brand found at AutoZone. It dries hard and doesn't leave a rubbery texture.
