BJ75 with 5th gear trouble

It could be a sign that 5th hasnt been used properly. Towing or driving uphill in 5th pushes 5th gear hard up against a bush wearing it out.This allows 5th gear to move around causing it to jump out of gear.
I had a 60 series that would come out of gear when you were coasting downhill caused by a weak detent spring , but I think your problem is different.

Yes , it could be the same as the owner in the link. If the gearbox/t/case has 300000 klms on it ,be prepared for a full rebuild.
 
I think Rosco is right. You can replace the pices to fix it without taking the box out. Just pull the t/case off and 5th exection off . Replace the 5th gear pice ,setector hub, detent spring [2] and locking keys [3]. But if the box has a lot of km on it ,it may pay to rebuild it and the t/casr also.
