BJ74 & trailer lights

Hello,

I have a BJ74 and last week the right signal and brake light for my trailer quit working. I have 25 volts running to my trailers left light and 20 volts running to the right.

Anyone here have any idea why there would be a difference from left to right?

one candidate is different resistance, possible poor ground to one side, a stretched wire, corrosion in a connection - many possible causes.

Well I finally figured it out.

The little black box that takes 5 wires in and 4 wires out had a short.

New black box and everything is working fine.

iwould assume that you have 24 volt bulbs on the trailer not just 12v

Yep, everything is 24v and the trailer lights are working great now.
