I have noticed that there are aftermarket and perhaps OEM model tailights that appear to combine the turn signal and brake into 1 light. Does anyone have any knowledge of these and if they would work with a Bj74. Mine are pretty faded and one is cracked and would like to upgrade if possible which will also simplify my trailer wiring.

Differences between 24V and 12V plugs and sockets, as well the rear floor harness is different between the split and combo lights (for lack of better terminology)

I used a rear floor harness from a 24V BJ70 that had the combined lights, re pinned the plugs that came with the combined lights I purchased.

My unsolicited advice, regardless of how you wire, is buy the light plugs that fit the sockets of the housings, as none of the three pairs I had on hand, fit the combined light housings I bought.

Also, if you have or have aspirations for a swing out tire carrier, may be worth reconsidering the combined lights, since none leave unobstructed.

I'm going to have bumper swing-outs and so I think I'd like to get tail lights with the amber turn signals in the middle third (not blocked by swing-out spindle), similar to ones in Ward's bumper thread. But I have not been able to track down a PN for them.

My current tail lights are the same as Delancy's. As an alternative, I could put LED amber lights into my existing reverse light sockets and install reverse lights elsewhere. :meh:
