BJ74 headlight washers??

Hey folks, I have a bit of a conundrum, my 89 BJ74 LX has what appear to be washer spray heads aimed on the headlights, as well there are two washer reservoirs under the hood. However when I spray the windshield the guys upfront don't appear to be running. Are they tied into a different switch or do I just have a blown pump somewhere?

They should only work if your headlights are on. Mine don't, I think the motor is siezed but I've never looked at it too closely.

HEY! that got it! thanks buddy! Id been wheeling Friday on my way up to a fairly isolated cabin, snowshoed in stayed for the weekend then after getting back to the truck was trying to figure out how they worked (seeing as my black truck was now a very solid grey) but she seems to work fine with the lights on! thanks!
