BJ74 24v Power Window Relay Failed?

Hi there, A few days ago I started up my truck and immediately my driver window rolled down all by itself. The driver window is now unresponsive to any commands from the master switch. The passenger window still works without issue.

In addition, now anytime I turn the ignition on, the power window relay at the bottom of the driver door clicks and will become slightly warm after 60 or 90 seconds. I haven't left the ignition on longer than that. Even if I unplug the master switch, the relay exhibits the same behavior--leading me to believe that the master switch is not the culprit.

I've tried performing holding the switch in the up and down position for 60 seconds as described in the manual. I've also tried performing the tests in described in the manual too; however, the wiring is different so I'm not sure if these results will be beneficial.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

can you disconnect/remove the relay and test it off the vehicle?

Shame on me. I pulled the relay out, pulled the cap off, realized there was an oz or two of water in the relay box and now the window rolls up on its own instead of down. Seems that I need to resolve other “upstream issues.”

Turns out if you dry your relay board and box out, reinstall, the power windows are fully operational.
