My BJ73 (1986) does not have a owners manual. It has a LSD REAR DIFF. Does anyone know how much friction modifier to add when changing? Thinking 1 bottle from napa but want to know if anyone knows what "Toyota" says...

You just buy a litre of LSD oil and thats enough,700ml seems to ring a bell.
In any case you just fill it to the fill plug hole on level ground.

i red some where not to use friction modifier in a lsd iirr.

Yes just lsd oil is the bst i think also

Its what the FSM says to use. But if the LSD is worn,you might as well use normal gear oil and save your money

Ok im realy no expert on this one so thanks but something goes into my logics;

Puting slippery stuff into a LIMITED slip diff ?

Or doesnt it work that way ? (i have not yet tryd to understand the basics of a lds diff)

Going to get 1 bottle of friction modifier and put new 80/90 in tomorrow and report back..

Found this and used it. No chatter so far and seems good.

All good so far... They said it is already mixed in..

Ive been using it for 10 years in landcruisers,it meets the factory specs.
