Hi all,

I've just bought a larger car (converted '88 Troopy to dual cab with Brunswick 6.5 turbo chev) and I'm not sure what to do with my much loved BJ 73

The mechanics are brilliant but the body is beginning to rust - especially the scuttle panel and around the wheel arches... Odo reads 550,000

I know if I sell her I won't get much and I've got 2 other Landcruisers of the same vintage and series so I can use some of the parts myself.
I apologise if this sounds like an advert but the decision to keep or part out/sell rests on the following....

The motor is a 13BT fully reconned 35,000 km (2011) ago for $11,000 (have receipt). Get 10 liters per 100km (all new engine kit installed by Clarke Diesel in Cairns)
The motor replaced the 3B that died and is very quick (130hp turbo)
New leaf springs, shackles + drive shafts, u joints and pinion bearings 25,0000 km ago plus new 100 amp alternator
Also new brake and clutch master and clutch slave.

Gearbox reconned 50,000ks ago plus new clutch and machined flywheel
Front and rear Lokka diff locks.

In the past 3-4 months
1) new water pump and viscous fan
2) new tie rod ends, knuckle spindles, Aisin free wheeling hubs and new front and rear bearings and brake pads
3) full recon steering box

Any thoughts?

Cheers
Grant

Hi all,

Your BJ73 sounds like a great rig! I wouldn't give it up easy! :D
