I still can't post links here yet but I am looking online at an '87 BJ 71
They don't have many photos and of course the ones they have look good.
They want about $18,000 for it.

If it is all it seems, is that a good price?

The prices vary from as low as $10K to as high as $25K so it's a judgement call.

Seem's to me there are many more of these '70 series available now, and the prices reflect that. Stands to reason; the calendar makes a larger selection available for import, and the price's from the past have made it appear profitable for more people to bring them in. Patience rewards, as always, the determined and informed best. Personally, I'm saving my bullion for a LHD 1HZ75(or Charles's HJ), from somewhere near the med, but the very first ones were manufactured in 8\89, so, they're just beginning to get the OK from the politburo.
It sounds like there are several importers here on MUD with inclination and reputation, learn who these guys are. And get to know the parts guys, the old man in the desert has a '74 now, so he's snoopin' out the parts.

I asked them for more detailed pics so I'll see if I get them.
Thanks for advice.
It's true that I jump into things too fast. Lots of fun and headaches too.

Just be leery of ads. that say minor rust .... Easily repairable. ( it's not )
and approach the new shiny paint job with a sharp eye.
