Hi guys. I have a line on a turbo for my BJ70 Im just wondering what the opinion of the pros would be on the sizing. It is a holset hx25.

Theres "B49" stamped on the compressor housing. And on the turbine housing theres 4044786 and 11 164 and B1 B cast onto it. The turbo is from a 4.48l iveco industrial engine doing duty in a backhoe loader where it only revs to 2800 rpm.
Any thoughts why this wouldnt work? I'm looking for moderate boost in the mid range.
Thanks
AJ

Do you have a pic of the whole turbo with something for a size comparison? A turbo sized for a 4.4L may be too large. But without knowing the numbers on it, its hard to tell. If you take the housings off and measure the compressor and turbine wheels it should give a better idea of what you have.
Do the housings have decimal numbers cast or stamped into them(.48, ,.65 .54 something like that)? If you look up the turbo model from the tag it should give you some data on it either from holset or someone who deals with them.
Post anything you find and dougal should pipe up and give you the low down. Just need the numbers...

I looked for the usual decimals but theres none to be found. I thought the b49 might mean something. I'll see what I can find when im home next week. That engine is very similar to a 4bt,only difference is an 2mm increase in bore size. A lot of the parts actually work both ways.
