In one of the pictures you can see the tail end of another 70. What a lucky bastid!

That's actually a pretty rare cruiser. It's an LX model. You can tell by the three windshield wiper arms, the striped cloth upholstery, and look where the bottle jack is mounted--on the floor in the back. That's because there is supposed to be a back seat that faces forward and would, if it were there, cover over that jack. Also, notice the rear mudflaps. Pure LX model. As I recall from my Brooklands book, the LX was only sold for model years 83 and 84. Also please notice the unique dash on the model. It has a central plate that screws on and mounts the pull handles. Also very unique among 40-series. If the truck is in any good shape at all, it does have collector value. I don't want/need it; however, there is more than likely someone out there who would. Not at 22k, not at 15k, but certainly at something approaching 12-13k. Especially IF the title situation is ok.

Where is the one your talking about ?The link in the quote only goes back to the BJ70.
One of those LX BJ40 got sold in Tasmania last month for $1800 one owner for the last 20 years;)

I also know a wrecker who has one. He has left the rear seat in the rain and the sun for a couple of years:mad:
He thinks everything in his yard is worth twice as much as other wreckers.

I believe he's referring to the BJ70. It does have three wipers and the dash is different. My '85 BJ70 has an LX plate on the back, but there's nothing special about it that I can see.

I'm confused.... 3 wipers? I think you're talking about a 40 series, but this post is about a 70 series... Are you seeing something I'm not?

I've been known to miss things on a regular basis.

Oops! I thought it had three wipers at first glance. It doesn't. Well, the dash is different. :)

I apologize, gentlemen. I was actually in this thread and was on eBay at the same time and was mistakenly referring to a 1983 BJ-42LX that was up for auction. These models actually have three wipers on the windshield. But, as you've pointed out, the auction linked on THIS thread is for a BJ-70. ;)
