Bj70 clutch adjustment

So I've got a bj70 a few months ago and the clutch needed to be replaced, it was kind of weak and engaged high in the throw.
Last week I put in a new clutch kit and resurfaced the flywheel. The clutch engages stronger now but is still too high.
So I tried to adjust it, the free play adjustment was all the way out, but when I adjusted it in it lowered the pedal height, basically making my pedal height adjusting screw useless. And then it would still engage at the end of the throw which was then shorter.
This has me very confused as I have adjusted the clutches in pickups many times and they are basically the same set up.
Any help or insight would be great.

Pretty much all you got is the pedal end adjustments, on some you can also adjust the push rod as it enters the master cylinder too. If all those adjustments are still not satisfactory you can screw the clutch for pivot out for more adjustment.
