Hi all.
I have a 1-up bike rack (triple, hitch-mounted). It's a great piece of hardware, but on our 2020 LC, when the rack is folded up, it blocks my backup camera. I feel that if I raised it or lowered it the right amount, the spaces between the rack hardware would create a "window" for the camera to see through. Our Highlander hitch is a just the right height for this "window" effect.

Has anybody ever done used a receiver offset to do something like this? Any pointers? I'm reluctant to move my camera, but might consider that as well.

Here's an example of one....haven't determined if its the right amount of rise, though:

I know I could just turn my head and reverse like I used to. But the LC's so high of the ground, it's nice to have the camera as well.

Thx

You'll want to add another locking/anti-rattle pin to the adapter, or else the two connection points will create an extra annoying wiggle.

Fold the rack so that it obstructs the view, mark a point 4 inches above and 4 inches below and have someone hold the rack at those positions while you view the screen. Should give you some idea.

On my 2013, the rear hatch just clears my 1-up rack when it’s folded up. I think raising the rack would keep me from opening the rear hatch with the rack folded up. And yes, the rack blocks the camera. Not blocked as bad if you only fold the rack into the first upright position. I’m curious to see what you come up with.

Thanks guys. I'll report back afterI try out the options.

Update: I added a Curt 4" receiver riser and it definitely improved the backup view. Both the rear and overhead images show more road. The riser also extends the rack an extra 4 or so inches so the rear upper door still clears it when opening. View is definitely still partially blocked, but much improved.

Now I have to tighten down the adaptor/riser and secure it.
