Truck finished its SOA conversion now time for tyres..

I tried a set of MAXXIS creepy crawler 37x14.5x15's on 15x10 rims and i only had an inch or so in the rear between the tyre rubber and chassis, giving me next to no articulation...

Who else out there is running big tyres on 70 series? Could you let me know your tyres/rims/mods? MUCH apprec.

Legally I can run up to 25mm spacers

Well I have a fj40 and wheels have 3 1/2 spacing and I put a 1/4 spacing and tires are 35 by 12.5 mtrs
So Ill think you would hit alot when you turn hard

What I want to know is how people are currently running 38" and larger (Peter Straub, etc) and still getting good offroad articulation. With only an inch in it, My rear axle would only articulate a few degrees before the tyre would rub meaning I'm more likely to roll...

I am running 325/85R16 booties on my SO 74. That's about 38" or so. The wheels are 16x10 w/ 4" BS made by Unique. I then put 1.5" spacers on the rear, and the front hubs have been converted to the 4Runner IFS hubs with the adapter from Sky manufacturing, which net's aprox 1.5" spacing per side. I then went and trimmed the fenders up another 1" or so.

You also have to move the front axle forward aprox. 1.5" when doing the S/O to get the front axle better centered in the front wheel well, otherwise it will rub the tire near the rear part of the openning really bad.

With just the big tires on and no 'widening', the rear tires would really rub against the inner fenders. Now, I get only slight rubbing on the right rear... not even enough to get through the paint on the fender. I still get a bit of tire rub, but that is mostly due to the wheel openings being a bit narrow at the bottom. A little more trimming should fix that right up.
