Is Big Lake a mad house like every where else right now? Thinking of heading there Friday, but don't particularly want to camp with a ton of people.

I was up there to fish a couple weeks ago. We normally go to Big Lake but didn't this time because of the wind. We ended up at Earl Park Lake which is less windy because it's up in the pine trees according to my dad and his buddy. It was great up there as usual and not too crowded.

I have fished Earl Park many times. Those Apache trout have some shoulders on them! First time up there we were catching many 18" plus Apaches and rainbows. Largest on the trip, for me, was 22".

Biggest we caught was about 14”. Caught more brown trout than usual too. It’s usually mostly Rainbows. Good times!
