Big Brakes

I just thought I'd post this in case anyone is interested.

I don't have an FJ Cruiser but my wife does. It's time for brakes and I happened to have a new set of front brakes for a 2010- up 4Runner ( 14WA calipers) and the 338mm (13.3") rotors. My wheels don't clear them on my build so she was getting the upgrade. I "heard" they are a bolt on deal. IF YOU HAVE THE 17" WHEELS.

They are. Here's a couple pics. Everything fit perfect. The splash shield even clears. Unfortunately, I had a bad casting on one caliper and it leaked so the original brakes went back on. So I can't say if I noticed a difference in performance YET.

I'll update when I get the replacement caliper.

Im married to my 16" wheels too, so bummer there.

This upgrade is on my list. I'm going to move to 17" wheels after I wear out the Nittos I have on now.

@aztoyman Do you happen to have the part numbers you can share?

I just went to Rock Auto and looked up calipers and rotors for 2017 4Runner. Then googled different part numbers to find prices.

I didn't look for OEM parts. I bought Raybestos rotors from Walmart online and Centric calipers on Amazon.

Make sure to get the ones with 12mm mounting bolts. They also have 14mm versions.

The pads are the same part number as my FJ .
