Hey all, happy labor day weekend.

I took the opportunity to do the big ('97) front brake upgrade on my 91 HDJ81.

I'd say everything went smoothly, but it didn't.

Nevertheless got the thing back together and was going to install my reman'd '97 LC calipers with toyota 100 series brake pads over '97 LC brembo rotors and they don't fit.. not by a long shot. I didn't even bother trying to fit the shim plates. it's still a good 1/8" away from fitting. I checked all my part numbers...

rotors
43512-60090

pads
04465-60220

calipers (using Raybesto's "Professional Grade" remans.. )

47730-60061 (FRC10437)
47750-60061 (FRC10438)

it appears as though the calipers came fully retracted, although i tried getting a c-clamp on there and compressing the pistons some more to no avail. when fully retracted the pads don't appear to sit as far back as they did with my original rotors but that could be a design thing too.

just curious if anyone can shed light on where I went wrong??

TIA--

100 series pads won't fit an 80 with the shims for sure. But they DO fit on the 96-97 LX450 without issues, other than the shims. I've done this quite a few times on different vehicles. The pads that were supplied were early LX470 brake pads, and I have no idea what the part numbers are.
