I read this thread two nights ago. When I did, I made 2019 Spring Break reservations for the Chisos Lodge (back country looks more fun but I have young kids). Great photos.

Haven't been there since 2006, at that time I took a 4WD 1999 Suburban 2500 with the 7.4L engine. Ran some of the 4WD roads at that time, nothing very strenuous.

Chisos Basin is SWEET! The Window hike is a MUST do. Very smart reserving in advance. The lodge was booked solid thru June of this year as were the campgrounds. Thanks for the props on the photos. When there, head over to Terlingua and eat at The Starlight. The views of the park are incredible and the food is excellent (kid friendly too)
