BFG ATs Incredilble Mileage

I have BFG ATs in the stock (275/70 R16) size and thery have 8/32" left after 57,xxx miles. According to BFG, the original tread depth is 16/32" for that size tire so after 57K there is still half left (6/32" usable since they must be rplaced when they get to 2/32").

I run them at 38-40 PSI and rotate them when I think of it. They have even wear and no cupping but they are getting difficult to keep balanced and don't stop very well on my snowpacked dirt road in winter.

Agreed that the BFGs leave a lot to be desired in real winter driving but the longevity is just nuts. I had siped Bridgestone Mud Terrains on a Tahoe that tore it up in the winter in snow, ice and slush. After 30K they were just too damn noisy to take anymore and since I had moved back east I switched to the BFG ATs. Right after I got the BFGs there was big snow storm and wow did I miss the Bridgestones. Since then, I've still gone with BFGs only because of their longevity and sympathy towards my wallet as I don't have to buy tires every 2-3 years. Not really sure how they have lasted so long on the 80. A few friends have the same exact tires (size, build date etc.) on Tacomas and they are almost shot at 35K. With three times the mileage I have way more tread....its uncanny. Maybe BFG will throw me a new set for my endorsement ;p

Mine have 3 owner, tons of rock rash, who knows how many miles under there belt, but still balance nicely and have plenty of tread left.
