Hey gang. I finally got around to installing my OEM AT Cooler tonight. Unfortunately, it would seem that my special ape-style installation method and Toyota’s soft heat exchangers don’t mix very well - looks like I somehow slightly banana’d my heat exchanger while installing it:
Install went just fine otherwise, alignment + torquing down was solid and as expected. Banana mode probably happened due to me pushing the top right mount down a bit when cleaning out the threads for that mount.
I don’t like it and feel a bit silly for doing it, but my engineering intuition tells me it’s probably fine. But curious to get a second opinion before I fill it on Wednesday - Would prefer not to lose my AT fluid pulling uphill or bouncing around off road.
Cheers!
