Even though 18 and 20 inch wheels look less offroady than 17s, they are great because u can fit bigger brakes, which you can't do when using 17s.

Tire choice is not a question. Theres plenty of them for any size. Especially nittos.

The brakes on the LC are big enough, I think. I'm sticking with 17's. I REALLY want to invest in the new TRD's....

What if you decide to install a TRD supercharger or Turbo kit or 35 tires in future? You'll need a better stopping power.
 
The Tundra 354mm (13.9x") will fit under the TRD 17" wheels. I'm speculating that Tundra calipers and rotors would be all that is required, maybe the hoses too.
