I just realized it's Tim's birthday 12/20 so that day is out. This is what happens when TheTim misses TheMeeting. I'd like to throw it out there if anyone else would like to organize this? I'd hate for the club to miss out on my account. Maybe the weekend of 12/6 could work for more folks?
Friends, we nailed down a date. My schedule is awful these days and it's probably not the most ideal date but between sports and scouts my free time is at an all time low. Hopefully a bunch of us can make it if only for the day.
The date envelope is 12/19-22. I am going to try to make a 4 day adventure out of it since I have time off with the holidays. The main day will be Saturday the 20th where we can do some exploring in the morning and shooting in the afternoon. Sunday I plan to play by ear. I'd like to get out on my dirt bike but that will require some coordination with the wife as far as the younger kids go since only Daniel and I have dirt bikes that can go the distance. The younger kid's Razors while modified can only do so much in the sand and Karleigh is only 3 so needs a ride in a car.
Last year we self organized the shooting quite well with each of us overseeing our own hardware. I will bring an extra table and EZ-Up. If anyone else can bring a table that will help, we always seem pressed for table space. Of course extra shade is also appreciated. Fodder for targets is also good if you have it. I will bring some clays and silhouette targets. Any one have a clay thrower?
I will head out mid day Friday and get set up. I will need to head back to Escondido to get my older boys from a scout dinner at which they are volunteering so will get back later in the evening. I am going to aim to get to the more east end of the range similar to last time to reduce crowds and traffic. I am not sure who has the BNT feather flag but if you can get it to me I will set it up to help others find camp. Based on last years pictures I believe we were where the arrow indicates.
This is the picture I am using for reference noting the features in the background.
Saturday night we can have a nice big old bonfire and great food as always!
