60wag -

I just measured center pin (top of the axle) to frame 21 1/4" and center pin to shackle 24". This is with my 1" lift shackle.

Thanks,
Dave.

I still think the slip yolk in your driveshaft is either frozen or solid.
If this is the case, any lifted spring will give you the same scenario.

I've got a BDS system on my '82 BJ60. It went on without problems. I did it myself in the driveway in a day. My buddy with the OME said that for the extra he paid for the OME it was not worth it. I'd check spring lengths to ensure all is correct with the kit and drive shaft lengths to ensure a PO has not messed around with that.

Interesting thing about the lift is that BDS claims even if the driveshaft was modified by PO the raising of the truck should move the axle rearward. For what its worth, the drive shaft slip yoke has plenty of slip now about 2-3".

I got the HFS 60/62 lift on my '90 62, went on easy, did it over a weekend with my dad and a friend. great lift, rides sweet with greasable shackles. has a little lean to the left, not noticeable unless your really looking at it hard.

I live in Amarillo, Tx and there is a blacksmith here who only works on leaf springs. He re arced and heat treated all my springs and added a full lenth second leaf and used bolt style clips. With slightly longer shackles, I ended up with about 2 inch over stock lift and the shackles barely angled in the correct direction from verticle. I run 32X11.50 MTR and at full artic no rubbing, even at full turn. The whole deal about 750 out the door, and it rides great. I think it will hold its arch because he forged/heat treated each leaf. This is a lost art, he is one of few in the country who still hand makes leafs. Wheeled it with good results in New Mexico last week. Drive your truck down here from Oregon and I'll make you an appointment at Texas Spring.
