For those of you that got one of these, I was able to fit it onto my Reliance water jug. It's just as sturdy as if it were on the regular 5 gallon water containers it was made for. I just had to trim one piece that came with the pump. Here is a before and after pic.
The first pic is of the pump on the jug but it's not on there firm. It worked fine though.
The second pic is after I trimmed the top plastic piece and used it as a sleeve inside the water jug opening. 3rd pic showing it works great! I took somewhat step by step pics; just didn't realize I had to have it hosted online somewhere to do a step by step procedure with the pics next to the text. So here's what I got for now:

I have three of those jugs I bought back in the early 90s, and they are still going strong.

They have been tossed into the back of my '90 Extracab I use to have, then a '91 4Runner, and now the FJ.

Mine have never leaked.
Mine have the spout too that stores inside, not sure if the new ones are still like that or not.

I got the pump at GrandePortal - Home for only $6.95 (so I bought 2) but I just looked and I don't see it anymore. Maybe they are out of stock as well.

mbb,
keep us updated on how you mate it to your water can.

Dan, it says the batteries are able to pump about 260 gallons when used continually.

Also says no hot liquids above 140 degrees.

If you were able to get the head up high enough and some sort of sprayer on it, it might work?

Thanks.
The price is right, even if it doesn't work for a shower it would be useful for something.

2mbb,

I live in Novato and want to get these from Grande Portal (I can meet you in Emeryville, I work there by Chevy's). Like you I feel 6 are to many. Would you like to split the cost and go for 3 each.

If there is anyone that live's in East Bay/SF/Marin and wants to do a 3 way split that works as well with me. This is to cool to pass up since I use the reliance water jugs all the time.

I tired ordering the six pack from grande portal and they canceled my order stating the product was not available. I have not been able to find these for sale. Too bad.

Bummer, that was my last resort to get one. I did a lot of searching and that was the last resort. Let me know if you ever find a source and I will do likewise.

Hey if anyone has an extra to sell, let me know (heck even a used one). On top of shipping/cost I will throw in a extra for a great beer on tap! I really want one.;-)

Same concept, but it does not have spout like the one on the top of the thread. many thanks for the try. It is so amazing that that one mentioned here just all the sudden is not available on the internet on a few sites. Again thanks for the search attempt.
