bathroom reno/shower questions

I went a little crazy, pulled all not perfectly strait studs and replaced, insulated with thickest solid foam board I could buy, should of vapoured the hole shower outside walls and inside but only did outside..

Concrete board on walls, siliconed bottom lip of board to tub flange, taped all joints with thin set. Schlutered systemed the entire inside as per instructions including corners.. .

Jumped a little ahead, plumbing was very strait forward.. purchased a crimping tool and did it all myself, very easy with all the new types of flexible line.. Lining up the drain with new tub was a bit of measuring and cutting, worked out..

Heated floor mats are great and easy to install also..

I would have liked to gone with heated floors, but would have had to run new wiring for it and the budget was already creeping over. Plus the old floor was linoleum that had asbestos in it (known from previous insurance job on the main floor) and all the contractors bidding on it said they would keep the lino floor and tile over it, but you can't do the heated floor over lino.
Turns out they removed the lino anyways...so

I was very fortunate to have base board heaters, wiring was easy..

Did lots of renos in the day, prolly pulled up my share of evil asbestos without know it.

That bathroom has a baseboard hot water heater, but heated floors are just damn nice.
